January 8
Dr. Marc Altshuler, Professor & Residency Director, Department of Family and Community Medicine at the Sidney Kimmel Medical College and Director of the Jefferson Center for Refugee Health, gives a presentation in connection with the traveling exhibit "Outside/Inside: Immigration, Migration, and Health Care in the United States" in the Scott Library.
January 10
We celebrated the investiture of Dr. Marlana Orloff as the inaugural Alexander and Johnston Family Endowed Clinical Director of Uveal Melanoma at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center for Jefferson Health.
January 22
Amadeu Abrantes, 92, of Portugal, who was diagnosed with aortic stenosis traveled to Jefferson to undergo a minimally invasive procedure called TAVR (transcatherer aortic valve replacement) where a replacement valve is delivered to the heart through a catheter. TAVR offers an alternative to traditional open-heart surgery for treating stenosis. He poses with the members of his care team, Dr. Nicholas Ruggiero and Rebecca Marcantuono, at a follow up appointment.
January 22
Marie Yavonovitch signs copies of her book prior to taking the stage at the Kimmel Center for the start of the second half of the 2023-2024 season of the Philadelphia Speaker Series presented by Thomas Jefferson University. Other speakers included Laurie Santos, Michael Beschloss, and Celine Cousteau.
January 30
Phil the Ram debuts his new and improved costume in the Gallagher Center on East Falls Campus during a mascot training session.
February 6
Dr. Keith Leaphart is Invested as the Humana Chief Health Equity & Community Impact Officer.
February 21
Alumni Relations holds a Welcome Reception for the newly appointed Anthony F. and Gertrude M. DePalma Dean of Sidney Kimmel Medical College and president of Jefferson University Physicians Dr. Said Ibrahim.
February 24
Jefferson Health Foundation New Jersery held their annual Gala fundraiser in Atlantic City with special guest performer the legendary DJ Jazzy Jeff.
February 27
Jefferson mourns the loss of healthcare trailblazer and civil rights pioneer Edith Peterson Mitchell, MD, MACP, FCPP, FRCP (London) during a Celebration of Life held at the Philadelphia Convention Center.
March 7
A ribbon cutting ceremony is held to celebrate the newly renovated Temporal Bone & Cranial Base Dissection Laboratory for the Departments of Otolaryngology and Neurosurgery.
March 12
Jefferson celebrates the grand opening of the state-of-the-art Honickman Center. Spanning approximately 462,000 square feet, the Honickman Center includes 300+ exam rooms, 58 infusion chairs, ten operating rooms, six endoscopy rooms, an onsite lab, a pharmacy, radiology services and more.
March 15
Match Day was held in Connelly Auditorium where 241 Sidney Kimmel Medical College students found out where they will be doing their residency programs after graduation.
April 9
A ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony of the Marion J. Siegman, PhD, FAPS Archives was held in the Scott Memorial Library. Dr. Siegman contributed a generous gift to renovate and expand the Archives to better preserve Jefferson's 200-year-old history.
May 8
The Mobile Stroke Unit, celebrated their 5th Anniversary.

Over 2,600 members of the Class of 2024 participated in Commencement ceremonies that spanned 3 days.
June 1
Alumni Day is held at Citizens Bank Park. Go Phils!
June 2
Jefferson Health New Jersey and the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center held their Cancer Survivor Day Celebration in West Deptford.
June 17
Jefferson Health honors Mary Beth Edger with the DAISY Lifetime Achievement Award for her 20-year nursing career at Jefferson.
June 26
Enterprise Executive Vice President and Humana Chief Heath Equity and Community Impact Officer Dr. Keith Leaphart and Bruce Ratner discuss the book he wrote and published titled "Early Detection: Catching Cancer When It's Early" in the Honickman Center.
July 22
Our team photographed Anatomical Models to provide students with images of the Anatomy Physical Study Aid collection located in the Scott Memorial Library.

The Sidney Kimmel Medical College Class of 2028 donned their white coats for the first time at the Crystal Tea Room.
August 15
Freshman move in and Convocation is held at East Falls Campus to kick off the new school year.
September 20
Oncology Nurses of the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center hold their annual Helping Hands Fundraiser at the Loews Hotel. Helping Hands raises funds to ease the financial burden patients and families affected by cancer experience.
September 25
The 15th Annual Methodist Hospital Foundation Fashion Fundraiser is held at The Crystal Tea Room.
October 18
Jefferson physical, occupational, and medical students hosted PT Moves Philly to promote the physical therapy field and highlight wellness. Over 100 students, faculty and President of Thomas Jefferson University Dr. Susan Aldridge gathered on Lubert Plaza.
October 25 & 26
Sidney Kimmel Medical College Alumni Weekend is held on campus.
October 26
Jefferson celebrates 200 years with a Bicentennial Ball held at the National Constitution Center.
November 2
The 72nd Annual Harvest Ball is held at The Bellevue Hotel.
November 19
Ramily Thanksgiving meal packing for those in need.
November 21
Jefferson raises over $2 million at their 22nd Annual Gala fundraiser at the Convention Center!
